2017 Walk for Hospice is Saturday, June 10th at Siena College. Join our Albany Hibernians Walk for Hospice team! All are welcome. $20 includes a donation to Community Hospice and a new team shirt.
We will meet up by the Family Fun Area near Lot L, around 9am. The 2-mile family friendly walk around the beautiful Siena Campus begins at 10:30am.

LAOH Albany's 104th Anniversary Dinner Dance is Saturday, May 13th. Join us for dinner and dancing with music by The Tommy Flynn Band. There will also be a performance by the Farrell School of Irish Dance and we will be presenting our division Hibernian of the Year award to Kathleen Stevens.
RSVP to Carole Hackett no later than May 5th. No tickets will be sold at the door.
LAOH Albany's Annual Baby Shower benefiting Community Maternity Services of Albany is Sunday, April 23rd at 11am.
Executive Director Anne Marie Couser will be our guest of honor and will discuss the great work that CMS does for children, adolescents and families in our community. Please bring unwrapped gifts. CMS is greatly in need of the following items:
Diapers (size newborn thru 5), Newborn and preemie-sized clothes (up to 6 months), Infants/Toddlers clothes (size 9 months and up), Onesies, Blanket sleepers, Socks, Swaddle blankets & receiving blankets, Pacifiers, bibs, & rattles, Baby bottles & sippy cups, Diaper bags, Crib sheets and bassinette sheets, Toddler tooth brushes, Boppie Pillows, Baby wipes, shampoo and lotion, Learning Toys (24 months to 4 years), Children's CDs and GIFT CARDS are always useful.
This is a.pot luck brunch. Please let us know if you can bring a dish to share. Below are some food ideas we still need. Please contact Nancy and Kathleen to coordinate menu items.
Egg Dishes (such as scrambled eggs), Bacon, Sausage, Bagels, butter and cream cheese, Bread/Rolls, Fruit, Green salad and dressing, Potato salad, Deli Platter.
Dick Conners Irish Cultural/Historical Lecture & Luncheon is held on the first Thursday of the month. The noon seating features a different speaker every month; RSVP to Paul Collins. There is also a senior luncheon that starts around 1:00pm; RSVP to Norm Shea.
Prep work (prepping food, setting up the room) is done the night before, usually but not always the first Wednesday of the month, around 6:00pm. Help is also needed during the luncheon starting at 10:30am Thursday. For more information or to volunteer contact Chris O'Reilly.
Freedom For All Ireland and Easter Lilly pins are available for $5.00 each. All funds go towards our annual FFAI donation. Contact FFAI Chair Dolores Desch.
The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable organization. Donations may be tax deductible in accordance with IRS guidelines.

In lieu of a traditional testimonial dinner to honor LAOH New York State President Karen Keane, her sisters from LAOH Division 1 Albany are hosting a Carnival for Karen on Saturday, May 6th 2-4pm at Gavin’s Country Inn following the State Board Meetings in East Durham. Beer, wine, soda and hors d’oeuvres are included in the $25 ticket price. There will be carnival type games and a souvenir ad journal to benefit the Patricia Doyle Memorial Grant. We encourage all members to consider running for office. Please be aware we meet the first Tuesday of January, April, June and October. To run for county office you must have received your major degrees and if elected you will be committing to attend all county board meetings.
